Has this board long-lost it's purpose?

Was it ever that? I've been on here for prolly three years now, and I don't ever remember it being completely sincere and helpful (Taniesha Brown, anyone?). It's a mix. Even my own Q and A is a mix of serious, and bordering on trollish (no, make that downright trollish).
