Is this an outrageous price for a new air conditioner?

Grossly over-priced for sure. I work in an HV AC company, and unless you are replacing a furnace and a/c unit, $10K for an a/c unit is freaking outrageous. Even a 2.5 ton doesn't cost that much. Do not go with this company for sure... shop around.
